When will Choi Jung, the leading hitter of the professional baseball SSG Landers, record his first hit in an exhibition game.  먹튀검증

Choi is the only hitter who has met the required number of at-bats at exhibition games through Sunday. He has no hit in 12 at-bats for 14 times at bat, and is the lowest with a batting average of zero. 

In an exhibition game between Hanwha and SSG held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on the 11th, SSG coach Lee Soo-yong said before the game that he does not care much about Choi Jeong's performance in the exhibition game. "They don't care much about Choi Jeong and Han Yu-sum. They prepare everything in time for the game," he said, adding that veterans will likely improve their condition in time for the opening of the game. 

Choi started third baseman at an exhibition game against Hanwha on Wednesday, and played through the eighth inning. He had no hit in four times at bat. He hit Hanwha starter Weiss' slider in the first inning, but it was missed, and the left fielder rushed forward to catch it. In the third inning, he made three foul pitches against Weiss, before striking out swinging on a curve ball.

With runners on the first and second bases with two outs in the fifth inning, he was out after hitting a fly ball to the left field. Reliever Kim Do-bin's fastball in the middle of 145 kilometers was slightly delayed, and the ball was caught near the warning track in front of the fence. He hit Kim Seo-hyun's slider with a normal hit in the eighth inning, but he was out as it became a ground ball to the front of the third baseman. It was the ball that he hit the most on the day. 

Choi Jung has a batting average of zero in the exhibition game, but it will be different when the season opens. Manager Lee Sung-yong predicted that Choi Jung's innings as third baseman will decrease this season. 

Manager Lee said, "(Choi) Jung has some physical parts, so I'll have to go in to see the plan, but I'm going to let Jung play defense for three to four games and make him play designated hitter." I'm thinking of playing as third baseman for about four games a week and playing as a designated hitter for about two games. 

Choi Jung-eun is a franchise star who joined the SK Wyverns as the first team name in 2005 and has played for 20 years in the SSG alone. He has a batting average of 288 (2,69 hits in 7,892 times at bat) in 2,293 games in the KBO league with 495 homers, 1561, 1461 runs scored, 178 steals, and OPS.922. Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop broke the previous record of most homers in the KBO league, surpassing his career record of 467 homers as a player. 

In 129 games last year, he had a batting average of 291 (36 hits in 468 times at bat), 37 homers, 107 RBIs, 93 runs scored, and OPS.978. At the end of last year's season, SSG signed a four-year free agent contract with Choi Jeong for a total of 11 billion won. It is a full guarantee contract of 11 billion won with a down payment of 3 billion won and an annual salary of 8 billion won. 

Choi Jeong exercised his FA rights twice, signing contracts worth 8.6 billion won for four years in 2015 and up to 10.6 billion won for six years in 2019. The cumulative amount of FA was 30.2 billion won, ranking first in the accumulated amount of FA. 

As a backup for the third baseman, Park expressed her intention to give a chance to rookie Park Ji-hwan, who joined the team in the first round in 2024. In his first year since debuting last year, Park played in 76 games with a batting average of 276 (63 hits in 228 times at bat), four homers, 21 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He was selected in the first round as he was evaluated as having potential to grow into a big infielder. 

Manager Lee said, "We use Ji-hwan as a third baseman, and when Park Sung-han is resting, he enters shortstop, and we are even considering plans B and C depending on the situation. I am playing the outfield now, but I am gaining confidence little by little." 

In order to raise Park as the third baseman after Choi Jeong, Lee plans to give more chances this year. "Kan Gun is a blow. Since last fall, I have increased my arm position a little and practiced using my lower body a lot. It is getting better. I think I will be able to focus on defense only when the hit recovers, so if I maintain the hit well, I will actively use it," Lee said.
